Chic Philadelphia Airbnb
Chic Philadelphia Airbnb
I have a bit of a sick obsession with Airbnb. Late at night, just before bed I find myself scrolling through the app, typing in my fantasy destinations and searching for only the best and most beautiful Bnb's. Before I know it, I've saved 23 different places in Tulum and I'm weighing the pros and cons of infinity pools versus beach proximity. It's becoming a problem.
Needless to say, when my Mom asked me to find us a place for our trip to Philly I got pretty excited. I settled on this Airbnb in Rittenhouse Square; drawn in by it's simple but pleasing monochrome decor, rave reviews, and location. Not to mention it's serious potential for Instagramability. This place hit all of those qualifications and more.
The Bnb is owned by Percy who accepted our reservation immediately and sent us clear instructions for our stay the day before we departed. His e-mail included everything we needed to know from where to park to how to access the wifi. We drove into Philly on Sunday afternoon and parked in a Parkway lot on 20th and Walnut which was $25 per day.
The apartment is located directly above a wonderfully classy restaurant called Vernick Food and Drink. We entered past the restaurant door and vowed to come right back down for dinner. Through another door with a code and up a few flights of stairs and we had arrived! We followed Percy's instructions to get our keys and made our way inside.
The Airbnb has everything a traveler could want; there's even a washer and dryer in the bathroom. The decor is stunning, simple, and all shades of white making for a clean and serene environment. Although the bathroom is seperate, the rest of the apartment is laid out like a studio. One wall holds kitchen supplies complete with stove and refrigerator, copper pots and pans, and simple white mugs and crystal water glasses. There is a little half circle table connected to the wall with two stools for any dining needs, and the bathroom boasts a claw-foot tub with a shower head and Keihl's bath products.
There is a giant mirror above a fireplace directly facing the comfy king sized bed which is covered in every kind of pillow you could want. Extra blankets and towels are stored underneath the cushioned bench seating that lines the walls near the door to the porch. And then there's the private porch deck. A little flight of stairs leads up to a double door leading outside. There's a small wooden table with two matching chairs for sunny days, and an enchanting view of the city buildings. I can just imagine sitting out there on a balmy summer evening with some wine, enjoying the city sounds as the sun sets. Sadly it was a little too cold and rainy for us to spend much time out there!
Every traveler deserves an oasis to come back to after a long day of sight-seeing and this Airbnb really made all of our dreams come true. We were able to walk down to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell or keep it local and explore Rittenhouse Square with it's shopping and great restaurants. It was easy to grab an Uber when our legs got tired, and we slept peacefully and safely without any disturbances. I absolutely recommend a stay at Percy's place if you are planning a trip to the city of brotherly love!
